A separate choice from Renewed

Open Box vs Renewed and refurbished phones

Compare the labels, then confirm the specific phone with the seller.

Why look for Open Box?

In general, open box means a phone that was opened or returned and has not been repaired or rebuilt, so it normally keeps its original parts, and any time left on the maker's warranty may still apply. Renewed or refurbished phones have been repaired or restored before resale.

Check each listing or ask the seller to confirm.

How the labels appear on FlexEmarket

On FlexEmarket, Open Box and Renewed are separate seller-selected conditions. A listing marked Open Box whose title states used condition, grades A, B or C, or scratches is shown as Used. A+ and descriptions such as no scratches do not trigger that correction.

The condition label records what the seller states. It does not confirm repair history, original parts, warranty coverage, battery health or included accessories for a specific listing.

Confirm these details before buying

  • Ask whether the phone has ever been repaired or rebuilt and whether any parts have been replaced.
  • Ask whether any maker's warranty remains, when it ends and how you can check it with the maker.
  • Check the actual phone photos for wear, scratches and damage, rather than relying on a grade alone.
  • Ask for the battery health of your specific phone and confirm the exact model, storage and carrier compatibility.
  • Confirm which accessories and packaging are included and whether any accessories are sealed.
  • Read the seller's delivery and return terms before you buy.

A seller's cosmetic grade describes appearance. It is separate from repair history and warranty coverage.
