First phone for a kid: unlocked phones under $200
A first phone is often a lower-priced purchase, so this page starts from price. It lists 240 listings under $200 across 21 models, from $75 to $199.99, every one stored as unlocked.
It does not rank phones, and it says nothing about how durable or appropriate any phone is for a child. Whether a phone suits a particular child is a family decision.
How these phones were picked
- Price: every listing is under $200. That limit is our choice for a first phone, not a standard.
- Unlocked: the listing's stored details say the phone is unlocked, which means it is not tied to one carrier. Check that it works with your carrier and the model number before you buy.
- Choice: a model appears only when at least 3 of its listings meet both rules, so you can compare condition and price. 21 models do today.
- Not used: popularity, sales figures or any feature meant for children. The page makes no claim about children at all.
